Resonator Whistle
The resonator whistle for the Accucraft 2 truck Shay is a one tone whistle. This whistle is designed to be mounted on the front of the cab on the left hand side. The aperture and right angle assembly are mounted on the front, with the bell tube going through a hole in the front wall. The Bedding steam valve is mounted by a bracket attached to the rear upper vertical brace of the cab roof.
A banjo bolt and sleeve replace the pressure relief valve. Brass tubing goes between the banjo bolt collar and the Bedding steam valve.
A replacement pressure relief valve with a M5 x 0.5 thread is required to replace the factory stock one.
Installation
Installation instructions and diagrams are furnished. The installer will be required to locate and drill 2 holes in the front of the cab for mounting the aperture-resonator, and providing steam from the Bedding valve to the aperture. A notch in the front cab wall will be required to clear steam pipe from the banjo bolt to the Bedding valve. Drilled and tapped holes are required in the rear upper vertical brace at the back of the cab to mount the Bedding whistle valve.
